The new SPAR store at Lornshill Crescent in Alloa was officially opened recently by Gordon Banks MP, Ochil and South Perthshire, and Dr. Richard Simpson MSP, Mid Scotland and Fife.

Local residents gathered to view the red ribbon cutting, which marked the official opening of the store under the new management of Pete Cheema, who brings with him a wealth of experience in local community retailing.

To celebrate their launch, the store also gave away SPAR brand goody bags to the first 200 customers and offered deeper cut promotions across a variety of products.

New Proprietor, Pete Cheema said "I am delighted by the response of our customers, as they really appreciate the investment we have undertaken. A 24 hour free ATM, a wide range of fresh, chilled and ambient groceries, coupled with new customer car parking spaces have been very well received. The customers really like the competitiveness of the store, as it gives real value for money”.

Gordon Banks MP said “It was a pleasure to open the new SPAR Store at Lornshill Crescent in Alloa. Mr. Cheema will bring many years retail experience to the new store and I’m sure, many fresh ideas too. Congratulations and good luck with the new store”.

Dr. Richard Simpson MSP said “I was delighted to help Gordon open the new SPAR Store – and this is great news for the surrounding community, who will no doubt appreciate having this amenity on their doorstep. I wish the new venture every success”.
