A member of staff at SPAR in Eastriggs raised a £3,400 donation to Help For Heroes by walking 40 miles with members of her family. Tanya Wilson, along with her son Kevin Wilson, daughter Kylie Saunders and son-in-law James Saunders, walked from Eastriggs to Dumfries and back again in aid of the charity which lies close to their hearts.

Tanya said “I chose this charity because my son in law done a tour of Afghanistan and I was also an army wife for 16 years. We had tremendous support from staff and customers.”

The store at 3 Melbourne Avenue in Eastriggs also held a tombola, a lucky dip and a sale of unwanted DVDs to raise the total. £500 was donated from the store’s carrier bag fund, where money is raised through the sale of single-use carrier bags and donated to charities across Scotland.
