KINCAIDSTON PRIMARY SCHOOL IS COOKING UP A STORM WITH THE HELP OF SPAR

SPAR Kincaidston has ensured that Kincaidston Primary School’s ‘Cooking Bus’ Initiative will carry on for at least another two years!

The Initiative is one of two, designed to engage children in the skills and knowledge required to make healthy choices and to encourage them to improve their health and wellbeing.

Once a month, one class will get the opportunity to choose a recipe, go to SPAR to purchase the ingredients, prepare the recipe and then enjoy the food that they have prepared. The children will then be able to take home the ideas and recipes to share with their families.

The school approached SPAR looking for a contribution of one month’s supply of ingredients, however since SPAR support and promote healthy eating and are keen to raise awareness of its ever increasing fresh food options and meal ideas.

Company Owned Controller (South) Bill Mair insisted on ensuring that such a fantastic initiative that complemented SPAR’s own philosophies should be allowed to be comfortably sustained for the long term, and offered enough vouchers to allow The Cooking Bus to carry on for at least two years.
