SPAR LUNCARTY SERVE UP GENEROUS DONATIONS TO LOCAL SPORTS GROUPS

SPAR Luncarty has made a number of generous donations to local sporting groups within their local community. They were able to do this thanks to the all the money raised through the sales of their 5p carrier bags.

The store donated to three local sports clubs; firstly, they donated £200 to the Luncarty Tennis Club, who are always trying to raise funds to go towards the coaching costs. The Luncarty Tennis Club is a busy club, who teach both kids and adults classes.

Catherine Cummings from the Tennis Club said ‘Thank you to the SPAR Luncarty for their generous donation of £200 towards club coaching costs. Donations like this allow us to be able to offer kids coaching at a reduced rate”

For the second year running SPAR Luncarty have donated to Luncarty Soccer School, this year the store donated another generous sum of £600 to the team to go towards equipment. Luncarty Soccer School are a Youth football club based from Luncarty in Perthshire. They currently run teams in Perth, Dundee and Fife, the teams range from Under 14's to Under 17's.

Shaun Ewart from the Soccer School said “Thank you very much SPAR for your kind donation and sponsorship for the Luncarty Soccer School.  We recently purchased some new 7 aside goals which cost us £1000, you £600 went towards providing this essential equipment.  We very much appreciate your continued support for this worthwhile project. We have over 50 boys and girls coming along to our soccer school enjoying themselves and making friends whilst exercising. Thank you from all the kids and coaches.”

Finally, the store made a donation of £100 to local bowling club Luncarty Bowling Club; the club hold matches and training sessions throughout the week clubhouse for members of all ages and abilities.

Fiona Innes, SPAR Luncarty manager added “we are more than happy to support as many as out local clubs and community groups as possible.  Hopefully it will help encourage more kids and families to get involved, have fun and get active.”
