A brand new SPAR store opened at Medwyn Place in Alloa on Friday 21st June, following a complete renovation of the former Medwyn Stores.

Boasting a wide range of fresh foods and lunch time meal deals, the store offers a choice of sandwiches, hot snacks, crisps and coffee along with a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables priced at £1. Customers can also enjoy an extensive off-licence section with an array of award winning wines.

And that’s not all; SPAR offers 100’s of £1 pricing and deep cut promotions week in, week out. With convenient opening hours of 7am – 8pm every day, and useful amenities such as lottery, mobile phone top up and PayPoint services, the store really is a one-stop shop for the local community.
The store has been purchased by Pete Cheema, who brings with him over 25 years’ experience in local community retailing - Pete also owns the hugely successful SPAR store on Drip Road, Stirling.

Pete’s plans for the store include a complete redevelopment with a £85,000 investment, creating 10 employment opportunities in the community.

The official store opening takes place on Friday 5th July 2013 with a special guest appearance from Gordon Banks, Member of Parliament for Ochil & South Perthshire and Shadow Scottish Minister. Gordon, who grew up in Alloa, has been invited to cut the red ribbon at 1pm, along with local councillor Kenneth Earle.
