CJ Lang and Son’s newly acquired SPAR store in Auchterarder has launched an in store campaign to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Raise Funds. The store is encouraging customers to reuse their carrier bags. Every time a customer reuses a carrier bag the store will donate 10p to a local cause. The two causes are; The Community School for Auchterarder and Saint Margaret’s Hospital. Additionally, the first 300 customers in store received a free reusable Jute carrier bag worth £1.50 at the launch in December.

Customers will be handed a green voucher every time they reuse a carrier bag in store and then choose which cause they would like to support by placing their voucher in the appropriate box.

Store manager Murray Smith, said of the scheme:
“We are committed to helping reduce the number of plastic carrier bags used in store and we hope the local community will get behind this, it’s a great opportunity to reduce waste in Auchterarder and support local causes in the process.”
