SPAR GEORGETOWN DONATES £500 TO LET’S GET SPORTY

SPAR Georgetown, owned and operated by CJ Lang and Son Limited has recently donated a generous £500 to Let’s Get Sporty.

The money was raised through the sale of single use carrier bags, which since October 2014 cost customers 5p per bag.

Let’s Get Sporty is a not profit social enterprise based in Dumfries and Galloway and it provides young people with training, mentoring and employment opportunities through the delivery of sport and physical education.

David Bradbury, Coaching and Development Director for Let’s Get Sporty, said: "We'd     just like to thank SPAR for the support they have given us. It’s great to see two local businesses in the area being able to come together to support children and young people. Throughout the last five years we have been able to help over 120 young people into employment or further/higher education and in the last year alone we have delivered over 10,000 sports sessions to communities across Dumfries and Galloway. This wouldn't be possible without the support we have had from the local community and we'd like to thank SPAR again for the support and donation they have given us towards continuing to deliver sport and employability to young people."

Russel Morrison, Area Manager for SPAR Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to support such a great, local cause”.
