SPAR Peterhead, owned and operated by CJ Lang and Son Limited has recently donated a generous £800 to The Emma Sim Fund.

The money was raised through the sale of single use carrier bags, which since October 2014 cost customers 5p per bag.

The Emma Sim Fund was set up in memory of Emma Sim who passed away when she was 17 with a brain tumour. Emma’s parents decided to set up the Fund to raise awareness against brain tumours and help in the research towards funding a cure for this devastating disease. The money raised by the Emma Sim Fund goes towards pediatric research carried out by the Brian Tumour Charity.

Graeme Sim, Emma’s dad, said: “The Emma SIM Fund is truly grateful to SPAR Peterhead for the donation and helping us raise awareness of Brain Tumours”.

Stephen Fraser, Area Manager for SPAR Scotland, said: “We are thrilled to be handing over this donation to such a great cause”
