SPAR SCOTLAND STEP UP TO SUCCESS

Dianne Robertson an employee at SPAR Ardrossan has graduated from STEP the retailer and staff training course.

The SPAR Training & Education Program (STEP), which kicked off in March 2012, is available to all managers, supervisors and retailers to help them learn new skills and increase productivity. 

The course is free to all participants and is funded by SPAR Scotland. Courses are held across the country and are made up of five topics: customer service, legal compliance, fresh foods and staff recruitment and retention and performance management.

In addition to the STEP program , Ryan Hutchison from SPAR Scone, also undertook an External Qualification through ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management), which is funded by CJ Lang. Ryan had to complete 3 assignments relevant to the courses he attended.  The end result was Ryan received a Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management, along with his STEP certificate.

Completing the ILM Award is optional for the managers completing STEP and is fully funded by CJ Lang as well as offering tutor support to help complete the assignments.
