TAKING A TASTE OF THE OLYMPICS TO THE COMMUNITY

CJ Lang and Coca-Cola Enterprises got together to give some Tayside and Angus Communities, the chance to get up close and personal to one of the official Olympic torches and to try a taste of SPAR for free.

Two retailers and hundreds of locals welcomed the torch to the store on its whirlwind tour of Angus. And in Dundee, there were more people at both St Mary’s Community Centre and Ardler Community Complex, eager to get their picture taken with the torch, not to mention enjoy the complimentary snacks and refreshments, courtesy of SPAR Macalpine Road.

The people of Arbroath were particularly happy to see the torch, as the recent Olympic relay through Scotland, bypassed Arbroath, leaving its residents infuriated and feeling left out of the celebrations.

One local resident who went along to SPAR Brechin Road especially to see the torch, said that he was delighted that SPAR and Coca-Cola effectively saved the day and made a lot of local residents very happy, to be given the chance to see and touch the torch for themselves.
