SPAR at David Sands Group celebrates four launch parties in a fortnight

Newly converted David’s Kitchen and Pinkie Farm stores have opened under the SPAR banner and to celebrate the move, each store recently held a fun customer launch event.

The rebranding follows a partnership between the two businesses, announced last September, at SPAR Scotland’s tradeshow event in Aviemore. The partnership has seen David’s Kitchen and Pinkie Farm stores within the David Sands Group continue with their customer offer in conjunction with SPAR and CJ Lang & Son Ltd.

Despite joining SPAR Scotland, the independently owned, family run business said it will continue to focus on providing a personal service and retain its local identity.

The family fun customer days took place at each of the store locations in Musselburgh, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy and Falkirk.

A massive attendance from local shoppers turned up at each event and they were not disappointed. Local people visiting the stores were treated to hundreds of complementary goody bags, prizes, face painting, product sampling and much more! SPAR Scotland’s spinning wheel was out in force delighting customers with a chance to win gift vouchers and SPAR own label product prizes.

Celebrations were also supported by local suppliers AG Barr, Stephens Bakery, Mrs Tilly’s and Blacketyside Strawberries who presented customers with samples of their products.

There was also representation from the Healthy Living Programme who attended all four events.

Brian Straiton, Independent Sales Director for CJ Lang & Son Ltd said: “We have had a fantastic few days celebrating the re-branding of each of the three David’s Kitchen stores and the Pinkie Farm store in Musselburgh. It was great to see so many happy customers visiting the stores and enjoying the instore celebrations.

“We are delighted with how the SPAR Market rebranding has turned out and more importantly that the team at David’s Kitchen and Pinkie Farm stores are already benefitting from the change.

“We are looking forward to helping them continue to grow their business and excited to see what the future holds.”

David Sands is a family-owned, fifth-generation business that has over 200 years of grocery retailing in Scotland. Originally founded in 1812, the business has gone from strength to strength. The David’s Kitchen store brand was launched in 2013 and today the company has a total of four stores operating around Scotland, including the award-winning Pinkie Farm store in Musselburgh with plans to expand the estate in the future.
