BONNYRIGG POST OFFICE – GRAND RE-LAUNCH AT SPAR!

Local residents did not fail to notice that the local SPAR and Post Office are now both under one roof when the grand re-launch took place on Saturday 10th May. Following the announcement of the closure of the Scotmid store with the Post Office in Bonnyrigg, SPAR Polton Street quickly retained this vital Post Office service with its relocation to SPAR. To celebrate the launch of the Post Office service, local residents were invited to join the fun and celebrations on Saturday 10th May. With local radio adverts, newspaper features and distribution of 5000 leaflets, hundreds of shoppers turned up for the fun in Bonnyrigg. Between 11am and 2pm, there was a face painter on hand and many children had their face painted for free whilst a balloon modeler and a Scottish Piper ensured fun for all. Shoppers were offered plenty free samples of SPAR cheese, fresh foods, cakes, snacks, juice and wine and there were many giveaways. In fact, the first 100 customers through the checkouts received a free SPAR goody bag containing a selection of SPAR products. Bonnyrigg Post Office is now open Monday to Friday 9am until 5.30pm and Saturday from 9am until 12.30pm. The new Post Office is brighter and better than before with easier access for those with mobility restraints. With easy payment of household bills such as gas or electric, personal banking, Post Office card accounts and girobank business banking, the Post Office meets many local financial needs not to mention the DVLA services including vehicle road tax renewal and all forms of insurance. Managed by SPAR Scotland wholesaler, C J Lang & Son Ltd, the local convenience store is retaining all existing Post Office staff to ensure that customers are greeted with the familiar faces of which they are accustomed. In-store, customers had the chance to enter several free prize draws with fantastic summer prizes including a Mountain Bike, a Gas BBQ, a SPAR Treat Yourself Hamper or £100 of Foreign Currency. SPAR celebrated this launch with a whole range of special deals featuring many fresh foods such as eggs, bacon and fresh produce. There was even a family Meal Deal offering fresh Mince, Spaghetti and Sauce all for only £3! What’s more, the SPAR off-licence has been enhanced with a wider range of beers, wines and spirits. Stocking all major brands of beers and lagers including can and bottle multi-packs, there are even chillers with cooled beers ready to take home for your summer BBQ party or big night in. A large selection of branded spirits and liqueurs sit alongside red, white and rose bottles of wine. The store has never been better stocked with fresh meats, fruit, vegetables and dairy. Also, customers should look out for the fresh pastries and cakes from Mathiesons at SPAR! Whether seeking fresh foods for a last minute BBQ or tonight’s tea, the range in-store is sure to suit your needs. With credit card and switch facilities there couldn’t be a quicker or easier way to purchase tonight’s tea. SPAR also provides cashback and there is a non-charging cash machine outside the store.
