In the run up to the world cup CJ Lang and Son Limited and CHILDREN 1ST are challenging staff and customers to raise their football game by organising a Scotland wide 5-a-side football tournament. The tournament will run throughout April and May, the final being played in Lesser Hampden on 5th June 2010. The games will be played in Aberdeen, Inverness, Falkirk, Dundee, Glasgow, Perth and Dunfermline. Football clubs and players throughout Scotland are supporting event. Gordon Smith, Chief Executive of the Scottish Football Association said of the event: "Using football to encourage well-being is fantastic - when it helps to raise money to protect Scotland's vulnerable children, it's even better! I would urge everyone to take part in this great event." The event is for over 16’s, each team must pay a £25 non refundable deposit to enter. Every team member must raise £40 each or £200 per team. To enter all you need to do is visit and click on the ‘events’ section then click ‘news’ or email for further details. All funds from the tournament will go to CHILDREN 1ST. The charity works to support families under stress, protect children from harm and neglect, help them to recover from abuse and promote children’s rights and interests. The Scottish charity has centres throughout Scotland.
