WIN AN ‘APPLE’ A DAY AT SPAR ROSEVALE ST DUMFRIES

New company owned store SPAR Rosevale Street, Dumfries are promoting healthy eating in store by running a Win an Apple a Day promotion. Customers who visit the store and purchase a product classed as a healthier food item will receive free entry to win an Apple iPod shuffle. The offer has been running for 2 weeks. Winners will be drawn daily from Monday 22nd to 26th November. Products in the promotion include; oily fish, fresh fruit and vegetables, dried fruit, nuts and seeds, water, 100% fruit juice, semi skimmed and skimmed milk, wholemeal bread, oatmeal, porridge, oats, rice, pasta and lentils. The store opened its doors in October and is open 7 days a week; 7am -10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am -10pm on Sunday. The SPAR offers a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, chilled and frozen foods, soft drinks and snacks, grocery products, off licence and lottery to the local community. Household products can be found in store as well as bill payment and mobile phone top up which are available through the store’s PayPoint facility. Store manager Laura McNulty said of the initiative: “As a new addition to the area we wanted to have a fun promotion that encourages local people of all ages to eat healthier. The products included are items that we will stock all year round in our bid to ensure the local community have not only choice and value but a variety of healthier options.” The newly opened store in Dumfries is owned and operated by CJ Lang and Son Limited. The company has 93 company owned stores and supplies delivered wholesale to over 300 SPAR stores in Scotland.
