CJ Lang and Son Limited, owners and operators of SPAR Scotland, raised more than £70,000 last year for local causes and charities. The company donated a generous cheque for £1000 to Printfield Community Project Aberdeen, the money was raised through the sale of single-use carrier bags, which costs customers 2p per bag, and was collected and donated to a local charity nominated by the relevant stores. The initiative has been in place since 2008 and has already risen over £300,000 which has been invested directly into the surrounding community. Kit Trail from Printfield Community Project said “Everyone at Printfield Community Project is delighted that the Project has been chosen to receive the very generous donation of £1,000.In particular the children and young people, as it will pay for Dance Tutoring which they have been requesting for a long time." Printfield Community Project is one of the 32 chosen charities across the country to benefit from the funds raised. Cheques will be donated to various campaigns from youth clubs, sports clubs, elderly care and specialist medical treatment throughout the year.
